Keen & Free Spirited : Beejhimaal
We met Megha Pandey over a zoom call after an intro from a friend. It was a lazy afternoon in Dubai and when we logged into the call we heard the beautiful sounds of rain and a dainty looking female on the other side of the line. A few pleasantries later and we were blown away by the remarkable story that unfolded. We knew we had to find a way to collaborate.
Megha is an Architect by profession hails from the quaint town of Pithoragarh in the foothills of Himalayas. During 2020 COVID lockdown she was working in Malaysia. She started a blog called Native Keeps which is centred around natural living. She received a huge following and rave reviews. Equipped with the significant experience in sustainable living she returned to her roots to create Beejhimaal.
Beejhimaal, has had a transformative impact on employment and livelihood in the region. By collaborating with skilled artisans, Beejhimaal revived and promoted traditional techniques such as soap making, cold pressed oil extraction and creating herbal tea blends all using locally grown organic raw materials. The brand provides product inputs, training, and access to markets, ensuring fair wages and sustainable practices. This empowers artisans to earn a sustainable income, improve their living standards, and support their families.
In summary, Beejhimaal's brand story showcases empowerment, preservation, and sustainable development.
